Quantum Materials Discovery Institute (QMDI) focuses on machine learning, data science, and ab-initio methods to predict new topological and quantum information materials systems in coordination and collaboration with physicists, chemists, materials scientists, computer scientists, and engineers from Iowa State and other universities and national laboratories. The QMDI aims to provide thus predicted quantum materials to various ongoing experimental efforts to the Iowa State departments and the United States Department of Energy’s Ames National Laboratory. Dr. Durga Paudyal, materials theorist, from Ames Lab and Iowa State has been coordinating QMDI seminar (every other Monday at 12 pm CDT).
