Course Information
- Brief description of the content of the course: Computer Science 106: Introduction to Web Programming is a three-credit hour course designed for students with little or no prior web development experience. Students will learn basic HTML5 concepts, CSS and the fundamentals of developing Web pages using a comprehensive Web development life cycle. The students will also be introduced to advanced Web programming techniques such as JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, SQL and MySQL web developments.

- Specific outcomes of instruction: As a student in this course, you will embark on a comprehensive study of Web Development & Design Foundations with HTML 5 and CSS. The learning objectives and learning outcomes include:
- To teach the fundamentals of developing web pages using a comprehensive web development life cycle.
- To acquaint students with the HTML5 and CSS languages and creating web pages suitable for course work, professional purposes, and personal use.
- To expose students to common web page formats and functions.
- To promote curiosity and independent exploration of World Wide Web resources.
- To develop an exercise-oriented approach that allows students to learn by example.
- To encourage independent study and help those who are learning how to create web pages in a distance education environment.
- To acquaint students with the HTML5 guidelines.
- To illustrate how to build real-world, dynamic web pages and add functionality using JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, SQL and MySQL web developments.
