Co-Major in Computer Science
This process is for current Iowa State in another major that wants to co-major in computer science.
Application Process
Send the following materials by email to csadmissions@iastate.edu with the subject line: “Application for Co-Major in Computer Science with List your Major”
- Unofficial Transcript (This can be downloaded from AccessPlus)
- Statement of Purpose (Guidance)
- Resume/CV
- Letter from a faculty/major professor from the student’s current major
We do not require that the student must have secured a co-major professor from COM S at the time of admission, but it is strongly encouraged. If the student has a co-major professor from COM S, a letter of recommendation from the co-major professor is required.
Application Deadlines and Evaluation Timeline
For the transfer to begin in a Fall semester, a completed application must be submitted no later than March 1. Decisions will go out around than April 1
For the transfer to begin in s Spring semester, a completed application must be submitted no later than October 1.Decisions will go out around November 1
If Approved for Admission
If the student is notified that his/her application is accepted for admission, they will add the co-major information on their already submitted POS(C). If you have not yet submitted a POS(C), Nicole Lewis will work with you to submit the Co-Major Form Before Committee form.
International students on a visa should contact ISSO about any additional visa paperwork that may need to be filed if you require more time to complete your degree.
