B.S. in Computer Science

The B.S. program in Computer Science is designed to prepare students for positions as computer scientists and software developers with industry and government, or for graduate study in computer science and related fields. Program objectives seek to impart to students an understanding of the basics of computer science, to develop proficiency in the practice of programming and computing, and to prepare them for continued professional development. The curriculum is designed for full-time students entering the major with no previous programming experience, although more and more students declare the major with some programming experience. The curriculum does not offer distance or online courses for major study. Online course options are available for non-majors and advanced high school students who are interested in learning programming and computing basics.Three computer science students looking at a computer
