Oksana Kohutyuk and Mgavi Braithwaite attended and represented the Iowa State University's Computer Science and Bioinformatics programs at the 2004 Summer School on Advanced Modelling of Biological Function held at the International University of Bremen during August 2004. The Summer school gave Oksana and Mgavi an opportunity to interact with leading experts on computational approaches to modeling of biological structures, gene interaction and gene expression networks. While at Bremen, Oksana and Mgavi also made several new friends in the growing community of young Bioinformatics researchers from around the world. Oksana is a first year Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Mgavi is a first year Ph.D. student in Bioinformatics and computational Biology in the Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science at Iowa State University.
