Data Driven Science for All

Thursday, March 30, 2017 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Dr. Hridesh RajanThis discussion will begin with a gentle introduction to computing, and what it is all about. We will then introduce the audience to terminologies such as data science and data-driven sciences as a collaboration between computer scientists, statisticians, and domain experts. Last but not least, we will discuss challenges that exist today in data-driven sciences that prevent broader participation and are thus creating a new digital divide in the society.
