ISU Team Heads to ICPC Nationals

On November 4, Iowa State University hosted a regional site for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). This year, 130 teams participated. Twenty-five teams from Drake University, Simpson College, Graceland University, and Iowa State University competed at our regional site.

About ICPC

On Saturday, November 4, contestants in the North Central North America region (NCNA) will compete for bragging rights as top collegiate programmers. Teams at the top of the heap will advance to the contest's North American Championship (NAC) where they will compete to go to the World Finals.

The NCNA region includes Minnesota, Wisconsin, Western Ontario, Manitoba, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and the UP of Michigan.

Detailed Schedule

  • 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM - ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN – outside 1115 Pearson Hall
    • Pick up T shirt
    • Sign photo release form
    • Team photo
    • Snacks
  • 8:45 AM - CONTESTANTS' MEETING – 1115 Pearson Hall
    • Site Director meets with the teams to review the rules and discuss site specific policies. Ideally a simple sample problem will be posed, and teams will have an opportunity to print, submit solutions to the sample problem for judging before 10:15AM.
