Shashwata Mandal is a Ph.D. candidate at Iowa State University, working in the Department of Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Sourabh Bhattacharya. His research focuses on robotics, computational geometry, and multi-agent systems, with a particular emphasis on pursuit-evasion problems and path planning for autonomous systems. Shashwata has been actively involved in developing algorithms for aerial robotics, including work on joint task allocation and trajectory optimization for UAV platforms in wide-area biometric and phenotypic data collection. He completed his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology in 2016 and earned an M.S. in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2019. He joined Iowa State for his Ph.D. in 2019 and has been contributing to advanced research in robotics since then.
