Before joining ISU, Dr. Sarfaraz had the privilege of serving in both academia and industry. He served as a visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Analytics at Northern Kentucky University, an Independent Instructor in the School of Computer Sciences at Western Illinois University, and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at MJCET, Osmania University, India. He worked as a Software Developer at Nationwide Mutual Insurance, Ohio between 2019-2020. During his time at the UC, he had several opportunities to serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS), University of Cincinnati, OH and as a Research Assistant at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, OH.
Dr. Sarfaraz has always had a great passion for teaching, and he believes in creating a conducive learning environment that empowers the next generation of engineers to tackle evolving computational challenges. His research interests include machine learning theory and applications, artificial intelligence, image understanding, and future internet.
