Hesham Youssef is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Iowa State University, working under the supervision of Dr. Ying Cai. His research focuses on artificial intelligence and privacy-preserving data authentication, with an emphasis on developing efficient, interpretable, and secure models for query authentication. Hesham began his academic journey with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2018, followed by an M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya in 2020. Motivated by a growing interest in intelligent systems, he transitioned into computer science and completed a second M.S. degree in 2024, specializing in AI, machine learning, and query authentication. He joined the Ph.D. program at Iowa State in 2025 and is committed to advancing research at the intersection of AI and data security, with the long-term goal of pursuing a career in academia.
