Shu-Hui (Susan) Chang Earns QM and CELT High Quality Certifications

Shu-Hui (Susan) Chang has been awarded the Quality Matters (QM) and the CELT High-Quality certifications for COM S 1060: Introduction to Web Programming. This remarkable achievement results from her dedication to creating a supportive and effective learning environment for her students.

Her course met the QM Standards of Course Design for Higher Education in an official review performed by three independent QM reviewers. Additionally, an internal review by three QM-trained and certified ISU faculty and staff further validated the course’s excellence. The rigorous internal and external QM evaluations are based on the research-based Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric.  This is a significant accomplishment, as Quality Matters is a globally recognized organization that sets standards for high-quality online courses. CELT commends Dr. Chang for her dedication, hard work, and commitment to exceptional course design. Dr. Chang’s efforts have made a profound impact on both teaching and learning at ISU. The reviewers praised Dr. Chang for effectively "promoting instructor and learner interaction, organization, and student engagement throughout the semester, contributing to a positive learning experience." They also highlighted that the practical, real-world, hands-on programs used in the course fostered active learning.

Dr. Chang’s course is now featured in the QM national database for QM-certified courses and appears on the CELT list of ISU QM-certified courses. Congratulations to Dr. Chang’s remarkable achievement!
