ISU Programming Team Advances to World Finals...Four Years in a Row!

The Iowa State University Programming Team has once again proven it is truly among the best in the world. For the fourth year in a row, our students have earned a spot at the ACM International Collegiate Programing Contest World Finals. A total of five ISU programming teams competed in the ACM North Central North America Regional Competition on Saturday, October 29th in Lincoln, Nebraska. In spite of many issues with the regional contest this year, one of our teams, under the leadership of veteran problem solver, Yuxiang Zhang, was able to finish in the top three of the 231 regional teams. The other two members of the Iowa State University ACM ICPC World Finals Team are Jacob Perin and Ian Gottshall. The team is coached by Dr. Simanta Mitra, and assisted by Computer Science Graduate Assistant, Anindya Das.

Last year's students from the ISU World Finals Programming Team traveled to Phuket, Thailand. This year, the world finals will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota from May 20th - 25th.
