Admissions Partnership Program

Iowa State University and Iowa community colleges have partnered to offer the Admissions Partnership Program (APP) to students who enroll at an Iowa community college and identify State as their transfer destination.

This program will help you take the next step toward a smooth and successful transition to Iowa State. You'll be connected to exclusive benefits such as early advising, academic support, social events, and more.

How do I schedule a campus visit?

Please contact campus visits. We recommend planning your visit at least two weeks in advance so that we can arrange the appointments you have requested and send you confirmation materials, travel instructions, and parking information. 

How do I apply to Iowa State University?

Iowa State has a rolling admissions policy, allowing transfer applications up to one year before your intended start date. Transfer students are encouraged to apply at least six months in advance.

Apply Online 

How do I register for classes? 

Once you accept your offer of admission to Iowa State University, you can register for transfer orientation. When you attend orientation, you will register for your first semester classes. We'll also help you prepare for life as an Iowa State student.

At orientation, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Meet with an academic advisor
  • Register for classes
  • Obtain your ISUCard (permanent identification card)
  • Sign up for your free Iowa State e-mail account
  • Become familiar with the campus
  • Consult with a financial aid advisor, if needed
  • Learn about resources such as tutoring, counseling, and student clubs
  • Take English Placement Assessment, if necessary
  • Register for Destination Iowa State
