Kristine Loes, a Cost Center Manager for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) at Iowa State University, has been awarded the 2024 LAS Institutional Service Award at the LAS Fall Convocation and Awards on September 12, 2024. A CPA, she’s worked for Iowa State University for six years. For almost five of those years, she’s worked for LAS, helping the Computer Science Department.
Kristine consistently goes above and beyond what is expected to support the units she serves. More than a few situations would have resolved a lot less smoothly than they did thanks to her help. One example of this was with Dr. Pavan Aduri, Professor and Interim Chair of the Computer Science Department.
“Understanding the complexities of the budget is one of the most challenging tasks for new department chairs,” said Pavan Aduri when asked to describe how Kristine has impacted his role. “Kristine went above and beyond in helping me navigate the intricate budget processes. She excels at simplifying even the most complicated aspects of budgeting and projections. Kristine is always on top of things, quickly providing the information we need. I am fortunate to benefit from her expertise.”
When asked about the award, Kristine said, “Receiving the Institutional Service Award is a meaningful recognition of my commitment and the collective dedication within our institution. It motivates me to continue contributing my best and making a meaningful impact within our departments and college.”
