Hridesh Rajan will co-chair the First International Workshop on Virtual Machines and Intermediate Languages for emerging modularization mechanisms (VMIL 2007), held in conjunction with the Sixth International Conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development at Vancouver, British Columbia on March 13, 2007. The objective of this workshop, first in the series, is to generate interest in deeper support, e.g. in virtual machines and intermediate languages, for emerging modularization mechanisms such as mix-ins, units, open classes, hyper-slices, adaptive methods, roles, composition filters, pointcut-advice, and intertype declarations, to frame and refine research problem formulations, and to identify and encourage the pursuit of promising opportunities and approaches. The workshop organizers include Mira Mezini and Christoph Bockish (Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany) and Hridesh Rajan (ISU).
