About Ben Schmitt

Ben Schmitt serves as the CISO for Mary Greeley Medical Center (MGMC) in Ames, IA helping to protect data and identities while supporting the mission of advancing health through specialized care and personal touch.  Prior to his current role, Ben served in information security and product management positions in a leading fintech company (Dwolla), global manufacturing/engineering (Danfoss), and telecommunications (TDS Telecom).  Outside of MGMC, Ben serves on the City of Ames Public Nuisance Board of Appeals as well and serves as an advisor to a Distributed Finance (DeFI) startup focused on stable coins.  Ben believes in the power of detection networks, and resides in Ames, IA with his family and furry friends.
