Forwarding You Email
Once you have forwarded your email, your email will be affected by the new account server you choose to forward to and will be subject to its blocked and black list. Even the major email providers have at times blocked email from Iowa State University. ITS can only provide support to Iowa State email and cannot help once it has left Iowa State University.
- Open a browser and go to http://asw.iastate.edu
- Log in with your ISU net-ID and password.
- Click Manage Net-ID.
- Click View/Edit your email delivery.
- On the next screen, you will see different options regarding your forwarding status. To forward your email to an off-campus email, select Forwarded to email address and enter the address to forward to in the text field.
- If you are forwarding email to a non-campus provided service, like Gmail, the Exchange mail box and its saved contents will be deleted. IMPORTANT NOTE: Exchange users who opt to have their mail forwarded must also arrange how they will handle mail, calendar and address book entries on that system by contacting the Solution Center at (515) 294-4000.
- Click on Update Now. The screen will now say "Database updated". Note that changes made during the day take effect about an hour later, while those made after 5pm, but before midnight, will not take effect until after midnight.
