About Our Speaker

Gurmeet Kaur is a Senior Data Scientist within the Farming Solutions and Digital R&D division at Corteva Agriscience. She began her research career at the CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology in India, where she pursued a PhD in Life Sciences, specializing in Computational Biology. Following this, she joined the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the USA as a postdoctoral fellow. Throughout her career, Gurmeet's research has focused on the computational sequence, structure, function, and evolutionary analysis of proteins, as well as the study of biological pathways. She has contributed to the discovery of novel protein families and the prediction of their functions using high-throughput comparative genomics methods and tools. At Corteva, Gurmeet is involved in the design, development, and deployment of ML/AI models for protein design engineering projects across various areas of R&D.
