Development of a Mobile Application for Streamlining Machine Installation Reporting in Agricultural Settings
In the contemporary agricultural sector, the installation of new machinery is a pivotal process that significantly enhances operational efficiency and productivity. However, the documentation and reporting of these installations are often managed through manual entry into Excel sheets on laptops, a method that is both time-consuming and prone to errors. This project aims to address these inefficiencies by developing a mobile application that enables technicians to directly update a centralized database upon the completion of machine installations. The application, designed for ease of use on the field, leverages the cross-platform capabilities of React Native for the frontend, ensuring accessibility across various mobile devices. The backend is powered by Django (Python), known for its robustness and scalability, interfacing with a Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database to store and manage the form data. This integration not only aims to eliminate the reliance on manual Excel sheet updates but also facilitates real-time data access and management for the farming company. This master's project encompasses the full development cycle of the application, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing, with a focus on user experience design for the agricultural context. By streamlining the reporting process, the application seeks to significantly reduce administrative overhead for technicians and enhance the operational efficiency of agricultural machinery installations.
