Software Development at TMC Transportation 

For our presentation, we will be going over some background on our company, our IT department, and what we typically work on as developers. Additionally, we will discuss a real-world project completed by our interns during the summer and provide an engineering problem that we have recently worked on involving cloud-based architecture.

Our Speakers

Laura Janene is a Senior Intern Supervisor at TMC Transportation. She started the role in 2021, after working for TMC Transportation as a Logistics Training Specialist.

Colin Brown is a Software Engineer at TMC Transportation. He graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He joined TMC Transportation as a full-time Software Engineer in May 2020 after working as a Software Developer Intern.

Derrick Brandt, a Software Engineer at TMC Transportation, has a B.S. degree in Software Engineering and a B.A. degree in Political Science from Iowa State University. His professional expertise revolves around full-stack development, where he navigates through languages like C#, Angular, and platforms like AWS and Terraform. Additionally, he lends his expertise to maintaining legacy code, particularly in Visual Basic, ensuring its continued functionality.
