Unlocking Creativity & Efficiency: Harnessing Off-the-Shelf Generative AI for Innovation and Growth
In the rapidly evolving landscape of technology, generative AI stands as the cutting edge of innovation, reshaping the way we approach problem-solving and creativity. This talk offers a primer on generative AI, followed by an exploration of its integration within leading cloud platforms, Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock, culminating in a compelling live demo utilizing the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture pattern. The talk will begin with an introduction to generative AI, its principles and wide-ranging applications. Presenters will share valuable insights into how Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock facilitate the deployment of generative models, addressing considerations such as scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. The session will conclude with a live demonstration, showcasing the practical implementation of a RAG-based generative AI model. This hands-on example will illustrate the process from start to finish, indexing data from Iowa State’s Department of Housing, and highlighting how generative AI can tackle real-world challenges.
