Introduction to HPC and Overview Autonomy & Automation at Caterpillar Inc.
High Performance Computing (HPC) has enabled Caterpillar Inc. to develop and analyze products & solutions continually. This includes the development of an autonomous tech stack. Originally developed through a partnership with Carnegie Mellon University. Caterpillar has since created the division, Autonomy & Automation (A&A), dedicated to autonomous solutions. Chase Schuette, working in A&A at Caterpillar has provided HPC development and administration for the past few years. Combined with several years of experience in data analytics and additional engineering roles. He will speak briefly on the A&A division, job opportunities, and provide an introduction to HPC. This topic is especially relevant as Artificial Intelligence matures. HPC has grown important with a role in providing computing and storage resources.
