Title: Leveraging AI/RL for Homeland Security and Military Applications

Abstract: Reinforcement Learning is a promising field providing rapid improvements not only to existing sensors and flying platforms, manned and unmanned, but it’s fundamentally changing collaboration and how DHS and the DoD does business.  This industry discussion will explore the challenges facing U.S. Military acquisition of new platforms, multi-agent concepts, manned and unmanned teaming, and unique AI/RL applications.

Bio: Darin is a Senior Analyst at Metron, Inc. where he works in operation research and cyber analysis. Prior to his role with Metron Inc., Darin served 23 years with the U.S. Air Force as an Air Battle Manager and Acquisitions Officer. He spent an additional two years leading teams conducting battle management research projects for the Georgia Technical Research Institute (GTRI). Darin obtained his B.S. in Management of Information Systems from Iowa State University, his M.S. of Science in Strategic Studies from the Air War College, and a Master of Science in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School.
