Abstract:
He will discuss the future of computing while looking at developments of the past fifty years, including supercomputers, the Internet, Google, the iPhone, and massive software systems.

Bio: 
Peter A. Freeman is the founding dean of the Georgia Tech College of Computing and former assistant director of the National Science Foundation. He is widely known for his efforts to advance science and engineering research and education and has been responsible for a number of activities that continue to have a major impact on computing, including the Information Technology Research Program, cyberinfrastructure initiatives, and the GENI Internet Research project.​  Freeman served as the John P. Imlay Dean of Computing at Georgia Tech from 1990 until 2002 before joining NSF​.
