The ISU Computational Thinking Competition seeks to introduce K-12 students to problem solving with computational thinking in the context of their current coursework in Iowa schools. Student projects are in the form of computational models that help students to understand a problem, understand all of the requirements for a solution, be able to test their solution, and demonstrate the solution. Students will present their project to CTC judges, and compete for prizes including laptop computers, netbook computers, and i-Pods. 
 

• Four divisions: grades K-3rd, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 will compete as separate divisions. Each division will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizewinner.
• Projects do not require a computer. Computational models can be demonstrated in many different ways. Judges will look for cleverness and creativity in devising a solution to a problem using computational thinking (not necessarily using computer programming!)
• Both individual and team projects are welcome.
• Lunch at the ISU Union Drive Community Center is included for all participants. Accompanying teachers and parents are also welcome!
