Prof. Christoph Wunck is a full professor of Business Information Systems at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences (Germany), department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. He teaches courses on programming, introduction to computer science, software engineering, distributed applications, electronic business systems and process management. His research interests include manufacturing operations and intelligence systems, smart factory, IT architectures and machine learning algorithms in manufacturing. He holds a doctoral degree from the faculty of mechanical engineering and a master’s degree (Diplom-Ingenieur) in electrical engineering, both from RWTH Aachen University.
This talk aims to address some of the challenges posed by smart manufacturing scenarios for the collaboration between Computer Sciences and Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering. Prof. Wunck will introduce himself as an affiliate professor in the Department of Computer Sciences. He will illustrate his research environment in Germany on Industry 4.0 and point out possible areas of collaboration in research and student exchange.
