My ResearchMy research interests are at studying solving bioinformatics problems through machine learning methods. In order to study the functional important regions in proteins, a relational database PPIDB (Protein-Protein Interface Database) is built for the collection of protein-protein interface data. The data is published by implementing database driven web applications and web services. Protein-protein interface data can be generated through web interface query or programmatic invoking of web service functions. An online server, SHB_PPIPS (Sequence Homologues Based Protein-Protein Interface Prediction Server) is launched as an application of the database. Preliminary structure analysis of the protein-protein interface data has been carried out. Classifiers designed for predicting protein-protein interface using structure properties are in progress and an online structure-based prediction server is under the way. Kernel methods were investigated to identify interaction sites between protein-protein, protein-DNA and protein-RNA. I had previously focused on ontology based biological data integration and learning hierarchical classifiers. | |
