Other Interests

Most of my free time is spent volunteering with the Iowa State chapter of Alpha Phi Omega (service fraternity) and cooking. When the weather is nice, I also enjoy camping and just about anything outdoors (biking, boating, swimming, hiking, etc.).

Alpha Phi Omega (service fraternity)

Most of my free time is spent with Alpha Phi Omega (APO). APO is a co-ed national service fraternity and is the largest fraternity in the United States.

I joined the Xi Chapter at Iowa State in the Fall of 2007. We do a wide range of service activities both in the community and on campus. As part of this group I have previously held the positions of Co-VP of Scouting and Youth Services and Corresponding Secretary/Webmaster.

Cooking

I also enjoy cooking and baking. There isn't a specific type of food I like to cook, just anything that sounds good (especially new things). I most enjoy making things from scratch (pasta, pretzels, pizza, sauces, etc). I have recently taken up cheese making.

Outdoors

When I have time, I enjoy hiking and camping. As a scout, I have been backpacking at Philmont New Mexico twice, canoing in the boundary waters once, and sailing at Florida Sea Base twice. Around Iowa, I like to go camping and hiking around Sailorville Lake and Ledges State Park and also canoeing at Ada Hayden Lake.
