Carnatic music

I enjoy listening to music. I listen to different kinds of music. Perhaps the most appealing and mentally soothing kind of music for me is Carnatic Music, which is the traditional music of South India. I value Carnatic music first for its rich variety - of ragas, of themes, of composition styles etc. I feel that music naturally illustrates patterns of thought, and in the case of the great composers of Carnatic music, these mental patterns have been effectively conveyed at the highest level. I am personally attracted to the compositions of Mutthuswamy Dikshitar more than the others.
