Pink cell phone | home |

No, pink phone is not my girly side coming out.

I used to have a little silver-ish phone. Unfortunately, cell phones often suffer through a lot - being dropped, being dropped in water, being sat on, did I mention they are dropped a lot? So I dropped my phone a few times. Around the middle of March, 2006, the last time it was dropped, the little piece of plastic that holds the top of the phone (hearing piece) and the keyboard/speaker fell off and it was holding together on a wire, enough to still be a functional phone. Being a crafty girl, I glued it together with some super-glue. But I somehow superglued the phone to itself, so I couldn't open it. When I finally did, the wire broke. The problem with a phone broken into two parts is that people can call you, and you can call them, and they can hear you, it's just that you can't hear them. Huge problem.

So I contacted my phone service provider and explained the situation. The lady on the other end said "No problem! we'll give you $150 in-store credit towards the purchase of the new phone". So I went to the store. Everything over $150 started at about $250, and mind you, I wouldn't spend over a hundred on a phone. Now, there were two phones under $150. One I couldn't even consider, as it was not a flip-top. The other one was okay. Supposedly it came in silver, black and pink. But the store I was in only had it in pink. Buying it, I would only had to pay tax. So. I ended up with a pink phone. That cost me $5.68 after tax.

So getting pink phone wasn't a choice. It was economically the best strategy at the time and place.

Now the rhinestones... That's a totally different story.
