Implementation of XQuery for a Canonical Storage for XML:

The research deals with implementation of XQuery, a well-known query language for XML, for a canonical storage version of XML documents. I work on implementing the FLWR expressions and sorting techniques for XML documents. We use Kweelt - a platform used to execute queries pertaining to the language Quilt- which contains expressions that are subsets of XQuery. I completed the initial phase of my research where I integrated XQuery's parser, Kweelt platform with our canonical storage to get the XQueries running. The initial results validate most of the FLWR expressions and have been verified for accuracy. My current work is on providing sorting mechanisms for XML and to evaluate/improve the performance of such queries.
