Artificial Intelligence Research Seminar
Com S 610 (VH) Fall 1996.
Meeting Time: Monday, 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Meeting Place: 217 Atanasoff Hall
Seminar Description
Topic: Artificial Intelligence + Robotics = Embodied Intelligent Agents
This seminar explores current research on embodied intelligent agents
drawing upon a number of related research areas including: artificial
intelligence, machine learning, neural computation, mobile robotics,
evolutionary computation, and artificial life. The focus of the seminar
will be on recent experimental research with emphasis on projects in
the laboratories of Rodney Brooks, Luc Steels, Phil Husbands, Nils Nilsson,
Pat Langley, Marco Dorigo, Domenico Parisi, Katsusori Shimohara, Rolf Pfeifer,
Vladimir Lumelsky, and others.
Interested students may register for 1-3 credits for ComS 610 (VH)
depending on their anticipated level of involvement. Students who register
for credit are expected to present a paper or selected sections from
a recent book relevant to the topic of the seminar. Check this page
periodically for schedule of talks.
Students interested in exploring research in this area may concurrently
sign up for independent study or research credits.
