Research Page: Links to Mathematics and People

My primary research interests in Mathematics lie in the areas of Algebraic Logic,
Categorical and Universal Algebra, Lattice Theory and Ordered Structures.

In computer Science, I am interested in the broad area of Artificial Intelligence. More specifically in:
knowledge representation and knowledge aquisition in the semantic web using modular description logics and
secrecy-preserving reasoning as pertaining to multiple agents querying a knowledge base also in the context
of the semantic web.

I was awarded a grant from the Center for Information Protection, a University, Industry and Government
consortium at Iowa State, for the 2009 academic year to conduct theoretical and applied research on secrecy-
preserving reasoning as pertains to the setting of multiple agents querying a knowledge base in the context
of the semantic web.

I was involved in an NSF grant IIS-0639230 SGER: Exploratory Investigation of Modular Ontologies.
Vasant Honavar (PI), Giora Slutzki (Co-PI), and Doina Caragea (Co-PI), with the primary goal to develop
algorithms and software for collaborative development and the use of Modular Ontologies. My contribution
will be on the theoretical foundations of Abstract Modular Ontologies. Visit Professor Honavar's page for
more information!

This marvelous Book, so exquisitely written
by Anita Burdman Feferman and by one of my
best colleagues, Solomon
Feferman, speaks also
about my life...
