Hello. I've been the Graduate Secretary in Computer Science since October 1997.

Each year I process thousands of pieces of mail and email which then turn into several hundred completed applications to our graduate program.

We have automated some of the functions that take a great deal of time. We can no longer answer individual requests for application materials. Student inquiries are given several different options to obtain materials in different formats. Most people should be able to use one of the options.

This year we started a status page to keep students informed about the progress of their applications. It has reduced the email we receive in the department which gives us more time to process the materials faster.

In Fall 1999 we received over 500 applications and admitted approximately 125 students. We were able to provide teaching assistantship funding for 15 students and research assistantship positions were awarded to four students.

So far we have received over 650 applications for Fall 2000 admission. Admission decisions have started and are posted on the web page. Assistantship offers will start soon and will continue into May and June.

We currently have about 105 graduate students in the department. Approximately 30 students graduate each year and move on to successful job throughout the world.
