Take Com S 103,
"Computer Literacy and Applications", via the World Wide Web!
This four-credit course is entirely online and accessible through Blackboard. About
800 seats will be available for
the spring of 2012. For the sections 1 to 20 on campus class, students must
attend a face-to-face orientation session (location: 109 Pearson
Hall. Login to AccessPlus, click "class schedule", then
you will see Com S 103 class, and meeting time etc.) at the beginning of
the semester, and must take several examinations scheduled through out
the semester in room 60 Carver Hall test center at ISU. If you have time conflict with your section’s
orientation, please send an email to the instructor for approval to
attend a different section’s orientation.
For the
section XV and XW, students will attend online orientation and take
examinations in a proctored environment. If you are in Ames during the
semester, you can take these tests in room 60 Carver Hall test center.
It
is the department's policy that students should not switch sections once
the school starts.
After the
orientation, you will be expected to do all the online coursework in Blackboard,
the standard ISU classroom portal. The course uses the Windows 7
operation system and Office 2010 software. The face-to-face help
desks each week will be provided to answer any questions and solve any
problems students may have. We hope you enjoy this course and benefit
from the modern pedagogy that advocates collaborative and just-in-time
learning. We look forward to your active participation in the course!
