Ankit Agrawal

Background

 

I completed my Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in 2006. Like any other undergraduate student, till I was in my first year, I was quite unclear about my capabilities and inclination. Towards the end of my second year, I came in contact with Dr. Ankush Mittal, and began work on an informal project. Since then, I developed an increasing interest in pursuing research, and now I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at Iowa State University.
 

On self evaluation, I think my strengths are:
 

 a) Good research writing skills as my papers were mostly written by me

 b) Quick comprehension & sound foundation in basics

 c) Strong motivation and ability to come up with new approaches.
 

I am currently working with Dr. Xiaoqiu Huang on developing computer programs to solve bioinformatics problems.
