Occupation: I am a life long student at Iowa State University. I am finishing up my Ph. D. in computer science this year. I am a research assistant in the Artificial Intelligence Lab and Bioinformatics department at Iowa State.
History: I went to Wartburg College and received degrees in computer science, mathematics, and wrestling (picture (b)). Our wrestling team finished first or second in the nation all four years I participated. As my dreams of winning a national title fell short, I had a nervous breakdown and started dressing like Lt. Dangle (see picture (c)).
Hobbies: In my free time I help coach wrestling at Independence, deal blackjack at casinos, wait for friends to get married so I can make a fool of myself at their bachelor parties, and spend time with my hyper dog and disgruntle cat.
UPDATE (2004): To clear up any confusion caused by the Dangle picture above, that is me with my girlfriend Destri (picture (d)).
UPDATE (2005): I am getting married on July 30,2005 to the wonderful and amazing Destri Subakti (picture (e)). I currently work in Bioinformatics Department NewLink Genetics in Ames. We are trying to cure cancer, but I end up spending more time on trying to win Fantasy Baseball so the process has been slow.
UPDATE (2006): I exchanged vows with Destri Andorf on July 30, 2005. Everything went smoothly except one minor thing. My bride is originally from Jakarta, Indonesia and she wrote the invitation in Indonesian; well “formal attire” in Indonesian also translate to “super-hero costume” depending on what website you use (picture (f)). It was a little embarrassing at first but the in-laws got a laugh out it – besides the cape came in handy when Destri started crying during the ceremony. I still go to Iowa State and work at NewLink Genetics. Currently I am an assistant wrestling coach at Ames High School.
REUNION UPDATE (2006): I regret to say that I am another one of those lame people with an excuse for not going to the reunion. My mother-in-law is getting married so Destri and I are taking a vacation to Indonesia and southern Asia. Destri is making me leave the cape at home, even though it would come in handy as I will try save Indonesia of volcano eruptions, giant tsunamis, earth quakes, terrorist attacks, and the bird flu on the days I am not at the beach. Unfortunately the date of the reunion furiously conflicts with the trip. I was looking forward to catching up with everyone, I even had an expensive car rented, fabrications about my life and job memorized, and a trophy wife (see picture (g) ) to show off. I wonder how much return postage is on a mail-order bride? (Sorry baby!!) Not much is new, I am on my third year of saying I will graduate this semester. I have about 3 pages written in my dissertation so I am well on my way for three more years. Job and coaching are all the same. The biggest accomplishment so far this year is I taught my dog to hold stacked dog treats on his nose (see picture (h)) ; 26 is his personal record View Morgan's record. . Hope life finds you well.
