New center for cross-disciplinary research - CCILD

The applications of artificial intelligence extend beyond computer science, and the establishment of the new Center for Computational Intelligence, Learning, and Discovery (CCILD) is only the first step in applying its principles to our everyday life. The Center is directed by Dr. Vasant Honavar, professor in ISU's computer science department, and supported by 20 other faculty in departments including computer science, statistics, genetics, economics, psychology, animal science, and others.

Computational Intelligence, Learning, and Discovery Initiative Launched

Iowa State University has launched a new initiative in Computational Intelligence, Learning, and Discovery (CILD). CILD initiative seeks to foster fundamental research in machine learning and its applications in Bioinformatics, Security Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Science and Engineering Informatics, Semantic Web, and related areas. CILD program is directed by Vasant Honavar.
