Dr. Les Miller and Kofi Whitney, Ph.D. candidate in Human Computer Interaction, started a project in the 09-10 school year as part of Dr. Miller's efforts to bring computer science to middle and high school students. Students from Perry Middle School and High School joined Dr. Miller's class, scheduled after school once every two weeks, in Java programming. Graduate student Kofi Whitney is helping students become more familiar with programming and the virtual reality equipment available at the high school.

The Perry Chief ran a story in the May 11 edition of the paper on Dr. Miller's efforts. Click on Community on the left and then scroll down to "ISU Professor Teaching Kids" in the second column from the left for the article about Les Miller's program at the middle school in Perry.
