In the area of communications network, several projects are under way, including research on coordinated multimedia communications in ISDN, distributed fail-safe routing protocols, and dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithms and distributed computing environment (DCE).
The objective of the current research project (July 1993 to June 1995) includes the finding of energy-related information that will help the people of Iowa to increase energy efficiency in all areas of their energy use; the investigation of computer- based technologies to catalog, store and deliver this information; and the development of a knowledge-based system to give the people of Iowa easy access to reliable, energy-related information.
The main goal of this continuation project (July 1995 to June 1996) is to continue the maintenance of computer platform and server programs for cataloging, storing, and delivering energy-related information.
