Programming paradigms for building distributed applications, including socket programming, distributed object frameworks and programming suites, and web computing and security.
Introduction to some on-going research issues in distributed systems, including P2P computing, distributed multimedia communications, and mobile computing and networking.
Programming Homework : 40% Reading Assignment: 20% Exams (mid-term + final) : 40% All homework and projects will be due in class on the specified day. Late homework and projects will be penalized 25% per day.
Workstations running Linux and Windows 2000/XP are available in Atanasoff 115 and 116. For problems with these systems, consult SSG via email.
