A chicken genome assembly produced with PCAP was published last week in Nature by a large group of scientific collaborators. Information about the chicken genome is at http://www.nature.com/nature/focus/chickengenome/index.html.
The PCAP program was developed by Xiaoqiu Huang, along with collaborators, in the department of Computer Science at Iowa State University. The chicken genome assembly was produced with PCAP by Washington University in St. Louis.
